Christian W. Berg
Chief Executive Officer
(b. 1968) Berg was appointed CEO in GC Rieber Shipping in August 2017. He has more than 20 years experience from the industry in various top management positions, lately as the CEO of Viking Supply Ships and before that CCO of Siem Offshore. Berg is a Master Mariner and holds a Bachelor in Maritime Studies from Vestfold University College, he also holds an MBA in Shipping and Logistics from Copenhagen Business School.
Chief Financial Officer
(b. 1977) Ytredal worked with the company since 2007, first as Vice President Finance and then as CFO since September 2011. He was acting CEO of GC Rieber Shipping from November 2016 to August 2017. Prior to this Ytredal worked for seven years in Deloitte. Ytredal has an MSc in Economics and Business Administration as well as an MSc in Accounting and Auditing.
(b. 1954) Valberg was appointed Technical Director in 2002.
He has worked with the company since 1981, first as Superintendent then later as Project Manager for new builds. Valberg has been responsible for in-house designs since 1984.
Valberg has Naval Architecture from Møre og Romsdal college of engineering.
Director of Chartering
(b. 1979) Knudsen was promoted to Director of Chartering in October 2017. He came from the position of Commercial Manager, a position he has held since joining the company in April 2013. Prior to joining GC Rieber Shipping, Knudsen spent eight years for maritime industrial company Wilh. Wilhelmsen in various roles in different locations around the world. Knudsen holds a degree in Maritime Business and Law from University of Plymouth.
Jan René Myran
Chief Operating Officer
(b. 1963) Myran was promoted to COO in January 2018. He has worked with the company since 2015 as Vice President Technical and has more than 25 years of experience within ship management, lately as Head of Technical Management in Gearbulk Norway prior to joining GC Rieber Shipping.
Myran is a Marine Engineer from the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy in Bergen.
Head of QHSE
(b. 1973) Nøttingnes was appointed Head of QHSE in GC Rieber Shipping in September 2015. Prior to this Nøttingnes had the position as Head of QHSE in Seatrans Ship Management and Wilson Ship Management. He has worked within the QHSE field since 2006.
Nøttingnes holds a Bachelor in leadership and nautical science from Royal Norwegian Naval Academy in Bergen. He is also holding an education in operational risk assessment from Gjøvik University College.
