Chief Executive Officer
(b. 1977) Ytredal was appointed CEO in November 2018. He has worked with the company since 2007, first as Vice President Finance and then as CFO since September 2011. Prior to working in GC Rieber Shipping Ytredal worked for seven years in Deloitte. Ytredal has an MSc in Economics and Business Administration as well as an MSc in Accounting and Auditing.
Chief Financial Officer
(b. 1982) Kvåle was appointed CFO in November 2018. He has been with GC Rieber AS since 2014 and served as acting CFO of GC Rieber Shipping ASA in 2016 and 2017. Mr. Kvåle worked for The Boston Consulting Group before joining GC Rieber. Kvåle holds a Master in Industrial Economics and Management from NTNU in Trondheim, Norway.
Chief Commercial Officer
(b. 1979) Knudsen was promoted to Director of Chartering in October 2017. He came from the position of Commercial Manager, a position he has held since joining the company in April 2013. Prior to joining GC Rieber Shipping, Knudsen spent eight years for maritime industrial company Wilh. Wilhelmsen in various roles in different locations around the world. Knudsen holds a degree in Maritime Business and Law from University of Plymouth.
(b. 1954) Valberg was appointed Technical Director in 2002.
He has worked with the company since 1981, first as Superintendent then later as Project Manager for new builds. Valberg has been responsible for in-house designs since 1984.
Valberg has Naval Architecture from Møre og Romsdal college of engineering.
Jan René Myran
Chief Operating Officer
(b. 1963) Myran was promoted to COO in January 2018. He has worked with the company since 2015 as Vice President Technical and has more than 25 years of experience within ship management, lately as Head of Technical Management in Gearbulk Norway prior to joining GC Rieber Shipping.
Myran is a Marine Engineer from the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy in Bergen.
Head of QHSE
(b. 1973) Nøttingnes was appointed Head of QHSE in GC Rieber Shipping in September 2015. Prior to this Nøttingnes had the position as Head of QHSE in Seatrans Ship Management and Wilson Ship Management. He has worked within the QHSE field since 2006.
Nøttingnes holds a Bachelor in leadership and nautical science from Royal Norwegian Naval Academy in Bergen. He is also holding an education in operational risk assessment from Gjøvik University College.
Head of Crewing
(b. 1972) Breistein has worked with the company since 2012, first as Crew Manager, Crew Manager head of department and then as Head of Crewing since May 2017. Prior to joining GC Rieber Shipping, Breistein worked 14 years in the travel industry and 5 years in the offshore industry. Breistein is educated within Human resources management and tourism.
